By accessing or using services from Carlton The Mechanic (“Carlton The Mechanic LLC”), you agree to these Terms of Service. These Terms operate alongside our Service Conditions and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated into this agreement.
1. DEFINITIONS
“Carlton The Mechanic LLC” means the registered business entity providing automotive services under the name Carlton The Mechanic.
“Carlton The Mechanic” means the mobile automotive service provider performing approved services.
“Customer” means any individual or entity requesting services.
“Services” means mobile automotive diagnostics, repair, maintenance, inspections, and related services.
“Vehicle” means any vehicle presented for service.
“Agreement” means these Terms, Service Conditions, estimates, invoices, repair orders, website information, and documented communications.
2. PRIVACY POLICY
Carlton The Mechanic LLC respects Customer privacy and handles personal information according to the Privacy Policy available on CarltonTheMechanic.com.
By using Carlton The Mechanic services, booking appointments, submitting forms, communicating through SMS, email, or other electronic methods, or providing vehicle information, the Customer acknowledges and agrees to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference.

3. WEBSITE & ONLINE SERVICES
Carlton The Mechanic operates the website CarltonTheMechanic.com to provide customers with information, appointment booking, payments, V.I.N. decoding, customer communication, and other automotive-related resources.
By using CarltonTheMechanic.com, the Customer agrees to use the website only for lawful purposes and to provide accurate information when submitting forms, requesting services, or communicating with Carlton The Mechanic.
Carlton The Mechanic LLC reserves the right to update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any website feature, tool, service, or content at any time.
4. V.I.N. DECODER
Carlton The Mechanic provides a free V.I.N. Decoder tool as a convenience feature to help customers identify basic vehicle information.
V.I.N. Decoder results may be provided from third-party data sources and may not always include complete, current, or accurate vehicle information.
Carlton The Mechanic LLC does not guarantee V.I.N. Decoder accuracy and is not responsible for errors, missing information, or incorrect vehicle details provided through the tool.
Customers are responsible for verifying vehicle information before requesting services, purchasing parts, or making repair decisions.
5. MOBILE SERVICE LIMITATIONS
Carlton The Mechanic provides mobile automotive services performed at the Customer’s location or another agreed-upon location.
Due to the nature of mobile repair, some repairs may require specialized equipment, controlled shop conditions, vehicle lifts, additional technicians, or facilities unavailable during a mobile appointment.
Carlton The Mechanic LLC reserves the right to decline, stop, or reschedule any service when conditions are unsafe, unsuitable, or outside the scope of mobile repair.
6. SERVICES
Carlton The Mechanic performs approved automotive services according to the agreed estimate, invoice, repair order, website booking, or customer authorization.
Additional concerns discovered during inspection or repair will be communicated to the Customer. Approval is required before additional work or charges are performed.
7. PRICING STRUCTURE
Carlton The Mechanic uses the following pricing models:
- Flat-Rate Service: Includes parts and labor unless otherwise stated.
- Labor-Only Service: Customer supplies parts and pays labor only.
Pricing is based on available information, vehicle condition, and initial inspection. Final pricing may change if additional issues, damage, incorrect information, or unexpected conditions are discovered.
8. PAYMENT TERMS
Payment is required in full at the time of booking or prior to dispatch unless otherwise agreed in writing. No service is reserved, approved, or guaranteed until payment is received.
A 5% processing fee is applied to all transactions regardless of payment method and is non-refundable under any circumstance.
9. SERVICE AUTHORIZATION
Approval through invoices, estimates, website bookings, text messages, emails, electronic signatures, or documented verbal authorization allows Carlton The Mechanic to begin approved work.
Electronic approvals are considered valid authorization for requested services.
10. APPOINTMENTS & ARRIVAL TIMES
Appointment times are estimated service windows and are not guaranteed arrival times.
Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, previous appointments, diagnostic findings, parts availability, safety concerns, or other mobile service conditions.
Delays do not automatically qualify for refunds once services have been booked, dispatched, or started.
11. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
Cancellations must be made before dispatch or before service begins. Once Carlton The Mechanic has traveled to the location, started inspection, diagnosis, labor, or obtained approved authorization, charges become non-refundable.
Refund consideration may apply when:
- Carlton The Mechanic LLC cannot perform the approved service due to limitations or safety concerns
- No work, diagnosis, inspection, or travel has occurred
Non-refundable items include:
- Diagnostic fees
- Travel or dispatch fees
- Labor performed
- Approved services
- Processing fees
12. VEHICLE OWNERSHIP & AUTHORIZATION
The Customer confirms they are the legal owner of the vehicle or have authorization from the legal owner to request services.
The Customer accepts full responsibility for disputes caused by unauthorized service requests.
13. RESTRICTED SERVICES
Carlton The Mechanic LLC does not perform services intended to defeat legal ownership rights, security systems, financing agreements, or lawful vehicle recovery processes.
- GPS tracking removal or bypass
- Finance-installed immobilizer disabling
- Repossession avoidance modifications
- Unlawful vehicle modifications
Carlton The Mechanic LLC may refuse service at its discretion.
14. DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
Carlton The Mechanic performs diagnostic services to identify possible causes of vehicle concerns using available testing procedures and equipment.
A diagnosis does not guarantee that every possible current or future failure will be discovered without additional testing, disassembly, operating conditions, or access to components.
15. CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PARTS
Customers may provide their own parts unless otherwise restricted by Carlton The Mechanic LLC.
Carlton The Mechanic LLC does not warranty customer-supplied parts and is not responsible for defects, incorrect parts, premature failure, manufacturer defects, compatibility issues, missing hardware, or part quality.
Additional labor caused by incorrect, defective, incomplete, or incompatible customer-supplied parts remains the Customer’s responsibility.
16. PARTS PROVIDED BY CARLTON THE MECHANIC LLC
When Carlton The Mechanic LLC provides parts as part of a service, parts selection is based on available vehicle information, supplier data, manufacturer specifications, and information provided by the Customer.
The Customer is responsible for providing accurate vehicle information including year, make, model, engine, trim level, mileage, modifications, and previous repairs.
Vehicle information from V.I.N. Decoders or third-party sources may not always include production changes, aftermarket modifications, regional differences, or trim-specific details.
If a part is found to be incorrect due to inaccurate, incomplete, unavailable, or undisclosed vehicle information, additional time, costs, delays, or adjustments may apply before service can continue.
Any applicable manufacturer warranties are limited to the part manufacturer’s warranty terms.
17. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
The Customer acknowledges that automotive repair involves mechanical risks and that additional issues may become visible during inspection, diagnosis, or repair.
Carlton The Mechanic LLC is not responsible for unrelated failures, pre-existing conditions, hidden damage, or failures not caused by services performed.
18. AUTHORIZATION TO OPERATE VEHICLE
The Customer authorizes Carlton The Mechanic to start, move, operate, test, inspect, road test, and otherwise handle the vehicle as reasonably necessary to complete authorized services.
19. INSPECTION, PHOTOS & DOCUMENTATION
The Customer authorizes Carlton The Mechanic to take photographs, videos, diagnostic records, notes, and service documentation before, during, and after repairs.
This documentation may be used for repair records, invoices, estimates, warranty documentation, quality control, customer communication, and dispute resolution.
Service documentation created by Carlton The Mechanic remains the property of Carlton The Mechanic LLC.
Photos, videos, and service records may contain vehicle information and are handled according to the Privacy Policy.
20. SERVICE CONDITIONS ACKNOWLEDGMENT
The Customer acknowledges that all services are subject to the Service Conditions provided by Carlton The Mechanic LLC.
21. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All business materials including logos, branding, website content, written materials, images, videos, documents, and designs belong to Carlton The Mechanic LLC.
No content may be copied, reproduced, modified, or used without written permission.
22. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
The Customer is responsible for providing accurate vehicle information including year, make, model, mileage, symptoms, previous repairs, modifications, and known concerns.
Incorrect or incomplete information may affect diagnosis, pricing, parts selection, and repair outcome.
23. NO GUARANTEE OF VEHICLE CONDITION
Carlton The Mechanic LLC does not guarantee that a vehicle will become fully operational, pass inspection, or remain problem-free after service.
Vehicle reliability depends on many factors including age, maintenance history, condition, and unrelated components.
24. COMPLETED SERVICE ACCEPTANCE
Services are considered accepted upon completion unless the Customer reports a concern within 24 hours.
Concerns must relate directly to the authorized service performed and do not include unrelated vehicle issues or pre-existing conditions.
25. NON-PAYMENT & VEHICLE RELEASE
Payment is required before completion of services or release of the vehicle unless otherwise agreed.
Failure to pay may result in collection actions, additional fees, and recovery of amounts owed.
26. ABANDONED VEHICLES
Vehicles left unavailable for pickup, communication, payment, or completion may be handled according to applicable Oklahoma laws.
27. CHARGEBACK POLICY
The Customer agrees to contact Carlton The Mechanic LLC directly to resolve billing concerns before initiating payment disputes.
Unauthorized chargebacks for approved services, completed labor, diagnostics, or authorized charges may result in collection action.
28. COLLECTION COSTS
The Customer agrees to be responsible for reasonable collection expenses, legal fees, and enforcement costs related to unpaid balances where permitted by law.
29. ARBITRATION AGREEMENT
Any dispute arising from these Terms or services provided by Carlton The Mechanic LLC shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable Oklahoma law.
The Customer waives participation in class actions where legally permitted.
30. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
SMS messages, emails, online booking confirmations, electronic signatures, and digital approvals are recognized as valid communications and authorization methods.
31. INDEMNIFICATION
The Customer agrees to protect and hold harmless Carlton The Mechanic LLC from claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from the Customer’s use of services, vehicle condition, inaccurate information, or unauthorized requests.
32. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carlton The Mechanic LLC’s liability is limited to the amount actually paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Carlton The Mechanic LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
33. TERMINATION OF SERVICE
Carlton The Mechanic LLC may refuse, suspend, or terminate service at any time due to safety concerns, inappropriate conduct, non-payment, legal concerns, or conditions outside of reasonable control.
If service is terminated after work begins, the Customer remains responsible for completed labor, diagnostics, travel, parts, and approved charges.
34. CORRECTIONS TO ESTIMATES & DOCUMENTS
Carlton The Mechanic LLC reserves the right to correct errors, omissions, pricing mistakes, or inaccurate information contained in estimates, invoices, repair orders, website submissions, or communications.
Changes affecting service scope or pricing will require Customer approval before additional work continues.
35. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, Service Conditions, Privacy Policy, CarltonTheMechanic.com website content, estimates, invoices, repair orders, photos, videos, and documented communications represent the complete agreement between Carlton The Mechanic LLC and the Customer.
36. SEVERABILITY
If any portion of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
37. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma.
